Everyone needs a personal career plan, whether you are an undergraduate, a graduate student, or an alumnus with several years of work experience.

The Citadel Career Center provides educational materials, resources, and support to help you:

  • Identify career interests
  • Create a well-constructed resume
  • Develop effective interview skills
  • Conduct a well-structured job search
  • Research graduate school options
  • Build your professional network

  • Career Planning Timeline. Provides a framework for knowing when and how to Explore, Prepare, and Engage in the development of your plan.
  • My Career Plan. A tracking tool to help you organize your search.

  • Check out career search related articles, such as how to succeed in the workplace, from the National Association of Colleges & Employers (NACE) on our Resource page!

  • Find out how employers use social media (both actively and passively) as a recruiting tool through a survey conducted by the National Association of Colleges & Employers (NACE).

  • Is your voicemail set up on your cell phone? If you give employers and graduate schools your phone number, be sure to set up your voicemail with a short and clearly spoken message that indicates they have reached you. If an employer cannot leave a message, you may miss out on a job opportunity. They will not keep trying or text you instead!
