Corps Day and Principled Leadership Symposium: 2014

Corps Day

The Citadel will celebrate the 171st birthday of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets with a Corps Day weekend of events scheduled for March 13 – 16, 2014.

Corps Day is one of the most highly attended weekends at The Citadel. Attractions include dress parades, awards presentations, special cadet performances and athletic events. A highlight is the mess hall birthday celebration in which the oldest member of the alumni ranks and the youngest cadet in the corps share cake-cutting honors. Most Corps Day events are free and open to the public.

7th annual Principled Leadership Symposium

The Citadel's Principled Leadership Symposium is a nationally lauded event held in conjunction with Corps Day Weekend each year. It is a student-centered conference focusing on leadership and ethics that is open to all students at The Citadel, alumni, faculty and staff and the public. Invited delegates from the U.S. Military Academies, senior Military Colleges, and local colleges also attend. In 2014, the theme is Principled Leadership as Respect: Valuing Others before Self.

The Symposium will take place March 13 – 14 at a variety of locations on the historic college campus. It is administered and sponsored by The Citadel's Krause Center for Leadership and Ethics.

Among the impressive roster of speakers are Pulitzer Prize-winning war correspondent and author, Rick Atkinson, and history-making ski-racer and Rhodes Scholar, Bonnie St. John. For more information on the speakers, please click here
