How do I take a summer school course at The Citadel?

SUMMER SCHOOL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

All students are required to adhere to all of the policies and procedures in The Citadel and The Citadel Graduate College catalogs. Please click here for a copy of the catalog for the Corps of Cadets. All other students click here for a copy of The Citadel Graduate College catalog.

Registration opens for currently enrolled students March 3, 2014.
Registration is open for all students March 17, 2014.

Students registered in Maymester and Summer courses MUST make payment for all Maymester and Summer courses by May 7, 2014. Failure to pay for registered courses, regardless of summer session, may result in being dropped from those courses. Students may register at any time after May 7th with payment due at the time of registration.

HOW DO I TAKE AN UNDERGRADUATE SUMMER SCHOOL COURSE AS A VISITING STUDENT?

Complete a Transient Student Application found here.

A non-refundable $30 application fee is required. Once you have submitted your application, call the graduate office at (843) 953-5089 to pay via credit card.  Your application will then be processed and you will receive a confirmation email.

What do I need to provide The Citadel to take courses?

Undergraduate summer courses are open to all students who have graduated from an accredited high school and passed prerequisites to these courses. Proof must be provided if requested. Rising high school seniors may take up two introductory level courses with written permission of their high school principal or school counselor.

The State of South Carolina requires all state colleges and universities to verify each student's legal presence in the United States. You must provide a photocopy of either your U.S. issued birth certificate, a valid U.S. passport, a valid U.S. issued military ID, or a valid permanent resident card.
