Welcome to the Honors Program. I am glad that you are considering joining us and I encourage you to explore our program by visiting the various links on our website. I hope that you will contact me if you have any questions or would simply like to discuss how our program can benefit your college experience.
We invite you to read this article by a Honors Program graduate, showing her path from high school junior to proud Citadel alumna.
The Honors Program requires both an application and an interview. Although applicants are encouraged to submit applications by January 15, I will continue to accept applications after that date. Applicants are asked to phone the Honors Program office to schedule an interview. If a personal interview is not possible, a telephone interview should be arranged. Opportunities for interviews are available during Day Visits and Pre-Knob overnight visits.
Applicants will be notified by the end of March or early April whether they have been accepted into the program.
Current students may also be invited to apply based on their academic performance at The Citadel.
The Honors Program is designed to provide an exceptionally broad background of cultural knowledge and learning skills which students can then apply to their chosen areas of academic specialization. Details of the Honors Program Curriculum can be found in the handbook and on this website.
Students are encouraged to explore scholarship and fellowship opportunities. Please see the Scholarship webpage for additional resources.
