Annual Speaking Contest
ROUND 1 of the 2015 CORPS-WIDE SPEAKING CONTEST: February 16th-20th
Round 2: March 2nd-6th
Final Competition: April 22nd
1st place: $300 and award at convocation
Runner up: $150
Rounds 1 and 2 will be held in BOND 365 in the Oral Communications Lab.
All contestants must give a 5-7 minute original speech that is informative, motivational, or persuasive. Speeches will be judged based on content, delivery, and language. 5 Finalists will compete for the championship. (Speeches designed to be primarily humorous will not be included in this competition).
This annual speaking competition decides the winner of the Henry Dale Smith Public Speaking Award which is presented at the Graduation Awards Convocation. The winner and runner-up also receive cash prizes.
